therapy with heart and humor

Amelia hall, ma, LMFT

As your therapist, I am committed to creating a safe and empowering space for you to become the most authentic and vibrant version of yourself.

Hi there!

As a neurodivergent woman living in today's society, I deeply understand the distrust of any authority that does not lead you back to your own.

I am a therapist with lived experience. My passion for integrative medicine, psychology and grief work began in my early teens seeking resources for a family member whom Western approaches had failed.

Over the years,  I have made peace with finding home in more than one place.  Originally from the land we know as Maryland, I received my undergraduate in psychology from the College of Charleston in South Carolina and later my Masters in Counseling Psychology from  California Institute of Integral Studies.  I now reside in Los Angeles with my beloved and our furry son.

I find medicine in laughter, daily movement and meditation, the practices of yoga and qigong, herbalism, dance, expressive arts, earth-based ritual and community healing.

with heart,

my approach to therapy

I hold therapy as a non-directive space where all aspects of you are welcome. Rather than "expert", I see myself as a collaborator, ally, support, and guide.

As an integrative therapist, I have been trained in transpersonal, somatic, and humanistic-existential approaches to psychotherapy, though the ultimate foundation to my practice is the therapeutic connection.

I integrate evidence-based techniques like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) within a strengths-based framework  to add to the skills and resources already within you.

I believe that therapy is ripe with self-discovery, self-development, and self-actualization. With the right internal and external supports in place,  learning to live in accordance with your deepest values becomes second nature.

Previous clients have described my style as warm, insightful, and down-to-earth. I am committed to meeting you where you are at while working towards where you want to be. I provide tools, support, and encouragement at every step of the way.
